Biography

Kim’s practice focuses on civil litigation, insurance defense, and family law. Since 1975 Kim has successfully represented individuals and companies throughout northern Colorado.

Kim handles all types of civil litigation, including representing people who are injured in accidents (plaintiffs), people against whom claims are made (defendants), and handles other matters such as collections. Having represented numerous insurance companies over his decades of practice, Kim has successfully negotiated cases to achieve the best possible outcome and he has also been lead counsel in lengthy jury trials. This experience allows Kim to give the client a candid assessment of what trial will involve and the risks associated with it compared to settlement. Kim’s clients have included State Farm Auto and Fire & Casualty Ins. Co., American National Property & Casualty Co., North Range Behavioral Health, and Norfolk Iron & Metal.

Kim’s domestic relations practice includes complex maintenance and property division cases involving business valuations. A thorough approach to understanding not only the cases various facets but most importantly the client’s goals and concerns allows Kim to help his clients resolve their cases through settlement when possible and trial when necessary.

Throughout his career, Kim has been recognized for his dedication to this practice. He was a finalist for the Colorado Bar Association Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year award, was President of the Weld County Bar Association, and in 2011 he received the Frank Henderson Professionalism Award from the Weld County Bar Association. He is involved in community activities, including incorporating A Woman’s Place, Inc. and serving on its initial Board of Directors, and was the legal advisor to Greeley Area Habitat for Humanity.
